Photography is a medium whose primal essence begs to tell a literal, detailed story. Hidden beneath the mechanics of the disciplined and technical image-making medium are secret desires of the camera to capture motion and light that are beautifully distorted, trick the eye, or express raw emotion. Photographic authenticity in abstract expressions is derived from images whose story was told the instant the shutter was snapped.
At the opposite end of the spectrum are images whose digital metamorphosis happened after capture, being exposed to complex algorithms on the computer.
“ABSTRACTIONS” contains images from both processes.
